Harvest, pick, bake and cook Mendoza´s famous local cuisine
Pick up is at 10.20am from your hotel and we go to Maipu, Mendoza's oldest wine district and where the original wine boom happened at the turn of the 20th Century. The winery is situated 45 minutes south east of Mendoza City, amidst expansive vineyards with the snow-capped Andes in the distance. We go directly to Bodega Finca Agostino. This Mendocinian-Canadian winery is an elegant mix of old and new on an expansive property that includes its very own extensive vegetable patch and fruit orchard. Here we start the day selecting the ingredients for the cookery class conducted by the winery's chef Sergio Guardia. The hands-on menu includes cooking bread on an open fire, empanadas, humitas and asado (Argentine barbecue). Next we take a quick tour of the modern winery, visiting its wine making facilities, high tech bottling area and art gallery. You then sit down to enjoy what you have cooked, accompanied by Finca Agostino wines.
Return to Mendoza at 4.30pm
