Taste Malbec in the mountains on a private tour with stunning views
Combine stunning Andean scenery with delicious Argentine wine by taking our Malbec and Mountain tour through Valle de Uco and into the Cordon del Plata mountain range.
We pick you up at 8.30 am and drive west into the mountains, ascending through a series of switchbacks into the thermal bath town of Cacheuta and pass the scenic Potrerillos dam, a turquoise lake that harnesses the waters of the rio Mendoza. We then go off-road through Carril La Carrera, one of Mendoza’s best kept secrets. This green verdant valley is in stark contrast to Mendoza’s ubiquitous desert hinterland and offers spectacular views of the Silver Mountain range. Eventually we reach the fertile Uco Valley, a high altitude vineyard region with the Andean foothills rolling down into colorful wine country.
At midday we reach Atamisque, located on the road dropping down into the valley. This winery is small, modern, stylish, French owned with a minimalist style tasting room where we try some of Mendoza’s finest Malbec, including the top label.
Lunch is at Bodega Andeluna, located close to the town of Tupungato. This mid-size winery has a warm, welcoming restaurant designed in traditional Old World style. This winery has the landscape, has the great food and the marvellous wines. Here we try an exquisite 4-course lunch paired with 4 wines that include the top wine Pasionado.
Return to the city at 6pm.
