This exclusive journey offers a deep dive into the rich history, local culture, and high-mountain traditions of Mendoza along the legendary Provincial Route 52, the ancient route to Chile no longer used.

Our driver and guide will pick you up at your hotel at 8.15am, traveling 50 minutes north of Mendoza City toward the roots of local heritage at the Canota Monument, a key landmark where General San Martín’s historic army split to cross the Andes. Throughout the morning, you will explore the beautiful Villavicencio Natural Reserve, famous for the purity of its natural spring water and its iconic, historic Alpine-style hotel, before ascending the picturesque “Los Caracoles” road, a mountain drive with 365 curves offering unforgettable panoramic views.

At the highest pass in Paramillos, we will stop at the scenic viewpoint where the famous naturalist Charles Darwin explored the region in the 19th century, right by the mysterious ruins of colonial silver mines that shaped the lives of early local mountain communities. After descending into the historic Uspallata Valley, you will enjoy a traditional lunch at a selected restaurant to connect with local flavors and authentic mountain hospitality. Finally, the journey concludes with a beautiful drive back past the Potrerillos Dam, arriving back at your Mendoza hotel at approximately 06:30 PM.
