Taste Malbec in the mountains on a private tour with stunning views
Combine stunning Andean scenery with delicious Argentine wine by taking our Malbec and Mountain tour through Valle de Uco and into the Cordon del Plata mountain range.
We pick you up at 9am and drive west into the mountains, ascending through a series of switchbacks into the thermal bath town of Cacheura and pass the scenic Potrerillos dam, a turquoise lake that harnesses the waters of the rio Mendoza. We then go off-road through Carril La Carrera, one of Mendoza’s best kept secrets. This green verdant valley is in stark contrast to Mendoza’s ubiquitous desert hinterland and offers spectacular views of the Silver Mountain range. Eventually we reach the fertile Uco Valley, a high altitude vineyard region with the Andean foothills rolling down into colorful wine country.
At midday we reach Salentein, located in Tupungato in the heart of the valley. This concept winery is famous for its stunning architecture, and imposing underground cellar that resembles a temple to wine. Here we have a sit-down tasting of the Salentein Reserva tasting.
We then have lunch at Bodega Andeluna, an ultra modern winery with a beautiful Old Word style tasting room and restaurant. Here you will have a multiple-course lunch with different wines whilst enjoying incredible views of the mountains. Return to the city at 6pm.
Prices are per person but are based on two people booking a tour. Wineries are subject to availability an we do not visit the same two wineries every day.
