History, delicious lunches and snow-capped mountains in the home of Malbec
We pick you up in the morning between 8.35/8.55 AM at your hotel and head for the vineyards of Luján de Cuyo, in the heart of Mendoza wine country. Our English-speaking guide will escort you around four premium wineries, old and modern, high tech and quaint, with a spectacular backdrop of snow-capped mountains. First we take you to at Budeguer, a modern, Argentine-owned winery making excellent Chardonnay and Malbec. Next we have a visit and tasting at Terrazas de los Andes, an old style winery completely renovated and refurbished by Chandon. Here the focus is very much on making big, concentrated single vineyard Malbecs. At midday we visit Casarena. Here we sit down in the winery’s warm, contemporary style restaurant enjoying a multi-course gourmet lunch with wine pairings whilst enjoying beautiful views of the vineyards and mountains. We finish the day Mendel. Set amidst rustic vineyards and housed in a traditional style villa, this winery is operated by Mendoza’s most famous winemaker – Roberto de la Mota. For Return to Mendoza 5.15pm
