Awesome views with awesome wines, our Valle de Uco wine tour is unmissable
Uco Valley has both altitude and attitude and is certainly one of the most interesting and stunning areas to do a wine tour in Mendoza. Situated in the foothills of the Andes, this new frontier in Argentine winemaking is attracting winemakers from all over the world. State of the art technology and gold medal terroir means the wine from this area is the future of Argentine wine. Guide picks you up between 8.20/8.40 am at your hotel and drive 90 minutes to Piedra Negra, a French operation, one of the pioneers in the Uco Valley area. This sizeable winery produces high altitude Chardonnay, Merlot and Malbec and we try the top wine Piedra Negra and Lurton. We continue into the valley and arrive at Corazon del sol. This modern, boutique winery crafts captivating Malbec and Grenache-based wines that capture the best of Argentina’s unique, high altitude terroir. Famed winemaker Santiago Achaval crafts their vineyard-driven wines from their estate plantings of Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre. Lunch is at Monteviejo. This ultra modern winery is the classic concept winery that Uco Valley has become famous for and is part of French winemaker Michel Rolland's ambitious project Clos de los 7. Here we have a 5-course lunch the winery’s restaurant with panoramic views of the vineyards and mountains. Return to Mendoza at 6.30 pm.
